The primary shifts out aggressively to use all of the power while the roller secondary is quick to back-shift and provides additional ratio through its oversized sheaves for continuous acceleration.
  • ARCS Front Suspension The ARCS front suspension features tall, strong forged alloy spindles and redesigned lightweight upper A-arms. Revised for optimum suspension function and increased ground clearance, the Sidewinder L-TX LE has a more predictable and consistent handling with less chassis roll.
  • Fox Zero QS3-R Kashima Shock Package The Fox Zero QS3-R shocks offer simple and effective 3-way damping adjusters for both compression and rebound settings to easily dial in the ride. These premium shocks also include a special Kashima coating for greater wear resistance than other hard anodized finishes. It also gives them a lubricating property that decreases the friction between the alloy parts and seals. This results in a smoother feel to the suspension and unparelled durability. To further improve durabilty, ice scrapers are used to prevent moisture intrusion into the shock body.
  • Dual Shock SR 137 Q53 Rear Suspension The lightweight Dual Shock SR rear suspension offers premium bump compliance with excellent resistance to bottoming. The Dual Shock SR is a “coupled” skid-frame that utilizes a unique “sliding” front arm mount with half an inch of movement at the front arm “slot." This active arm design delivers controlled ski-lift during acceleration while retaining a good measure of independent front arm tracking. The solid rear axle layout with its special idler wheel design and configuration provides great durability.
  • 137" x 1.25" RipSaw II Track Regarded as the best high-performance terrain track available, the 129" x 1.25" lug design of the RipSaw II delivers incredible acceleration, braking control and handling in a wide variety of trail conditions.

COMFORT

  • Tapered tunnel design The Sidewinder's light weight, two-piece, tapered tunnel gives you strength for the long haul and a tapered "fit" for enhanced leg comfort and overall ride positioning. The reinforced running boards are punched with aggressive boot hold serrations and offers excellent snow evacuation to keep your feet planted where you want them.
  • Heated Trail Seat A standard heated seat provides the ultimate in warmth and comfort on even the coldest of winter days. A simple flip of the dash-mounted switch allows you to choose from two settings of warmth allowing you to explore what lies beyond that next curve from sun-up to sundown in complete comfort.
  • Stealth control system The handle bar controls feature a left hand switch cluster which allows for 'on the fly' access to the multi-step hand and thumb warmer adjusters. Information available on the multi-function gauge can be easily selected with a convenient toggle switch and the push button reverse gear switch is also located in the left hand cluster. The right side of the bar is clean with an ergonomically shaped throttle lever and simple, stand-alone emergency stop switch. The Hayes 'Stealth' brake cylinder is equipped with a composite brake lever providing great modulation for better feel and powerful stopping performance.
  • Push Button Reverse Convenient handlebar positioning makes shifting to and from reverse easy with just the push of your thumb. A servo motor shifts the drivetrain into reverse simply and consistently. An audible warning beeper reminds you when you are still in reverse.
  • 20 Inch Tunnel bag Additional storage is provided by a convenient under-seat bag. It's semi-rigid design makes it easy to access and is water resistant to keep your spares safe and dry. Quarter-turn, quick release fasteners are provided to make removal a snap.

PERFORMANCE

  • High Tech Turbo Able to withstand highly elevated temperatures, the Nickel alloy turbine body is extremely strong and precise. Supported by premium ceramic ball bearings, the Inconel turbine blade assembly is very light and strong which yields a low moment of inertia for a lightning quick response to the exhaust gas input. Triple throttle bodies are used exclusively to further enhance the quick delivery of compressed air from the impeller to the intake valves.
  • Mitsubishi Electronic Control Unit The Yamaha-developed Mitsubishi ECU uses a series of 9 sensors to gather running condition data to compute a predetermined memory map which will adjusts ignition timing, fuel delivery, manifold air-pressure and turbo boost pressure to produce maximum performance under any condition.
  • Triple Throttle Body Induction The Yamaha Genesis turbo engine's intake system uses three separate throttle bodies that are positioned very close to the intake valves to create a quick engine response with little to no lag. This is something not see in any other production turbo on the planet.
  • Electronic Air Bypass Valve (ABV) Unlike conventional turbo 'blow-off' valves, the Yamaha ABV redirects air pressure back into the intake side of the compressor which prevents surge and maintains impeller speed.
  • Dual-Piston Braking A dual-piston brake caliper applies braking forces directly to the drive shaft with a wave-style, lightweight drilled rotor. The LE-only rotor removes 1 lb. of rotating mass from the vehicles driveline which transfers all of the Sidewinder's available horsepower to the snow. The Stealth master cylinder and composite Stealth brake lever offer excellent modulation and ergonomically precise operation.
  • Liquid Cooled Turbo Body When the engine shuts down, the convection energy produced by the super-heated coolant at the turbo head keeps circulating without the coolant pump in operation which eliminates the need for an engine cool down cycle, all while maintaining the turbo components' durability.

HANDLING

  • Centralized Mass Design The SRV chassis layout was engineered to centralize mass. Approximately 60% of the sled's weight is tightly centered within the main triangulation for a quick-handling, well-balanced sled that's fun to throw around in a wide variety of conditions.
  • Lightweight, Rigid SRV Chassis The SRV chassis combines a load-bearing triangulated structure with lightweight aluminum construction to create a neutrally balanced sled that's centered on the rider. The pyramidal upper frame builds chassis strength without excessive weight.
  • Stryke Single Keel Ski The Yamaha design, single keel ski, strikes the elusive balance between lightweight steering effort and precision handling over a wide range of snow conditions. Unique, staggered carbides further enhance steering response. A special shim pad assembly works in conjunction with the rubber saddle block to adjust the carbide pressure point. Overall ski stance is also adjustable by relocating the thick spacer located on each ski axle to the opposite side.
  • Over-the-Engine Steering The straight steering post is configured over the engine and connects to a single bell crank for simplicity and a light weight which minimizes free-play in the steering system and delivers a tight turning radius.
